By no means am I sporting a full head of thick blonde locks now-a-days either, but somehow I manage to impress.
Maybe it's because the past several years I began to have roommates...before them, it was just my mom, dad and sisters...and I'm sure one of them would have let me walk out of the house looking like death and gotten a chuckle out of it.
One of my college rommates in particular expected nothing less then a greasy, matted, tangled, half up-do rat's nest when I stumbled out of my room every morning. In fact I think she was a bit dissappointed when it didn't happen.
My then boyfriend, now husband isn't exactly the biggest help either because well, of course, he thinks I look good all the time (really NOT helpful sometimes.) Let's get this out of the way, if I have food in my teeth, a boogie hanging out of my nose, or a chunk of hair sticking up out of place, tell me please! We all want to be told about these things am I right?
Anyways, I've had my hair at all lengths in my life. I've tried it long but it's too thin and scraggly. I've tried boy-short but again not thick enough to achieve the desired look. I've tried bangs, no bangs, razor cut, blunt cut, bob, layered, A-line...So, here we are stuck in the middle again.
I guess the saying goes that if you have straight hair you want curly and if you have curly hair you want straight. I wish there was just a button you could push in the morning where bam! curly hair today, or zing! straight hair today. Eh, would be nice.
I'm digressing, I can tell. Back to my blonde bed head.
Now that I'm an old married woman (coming up on two years now) I care less. I actually finally have VOLUME in the mornings so it's kind of exciting actually. And luckily enough, my husband could care less too. I don't think this is an instant where he thinks I still just look good, as mentioned previously, but he's on the computer, I'm straightening the house, there are distractions.
The inspiration behind this post was actually a blog I came across called Blonde Bedhead. And c'mon now, she had me at hello! Check it out if you have a chance - here is a sneak peak of her "About me" section:
I'm Andrea and I'm a 24 year old PR pro, writer, photographer and style blogger from mid-Michigan. Because I'm a Nosy Nancy, I'll do anyone who's interested the courtesy of divulging more information about myself, much like I wish more bloggers would do.I grew up in a small town and as evident below, I was a horse girl. I grew up shoveling poop out of stalls, caring for a variety of animals and lecturing my five siblings whenever every opportunity presented itself. Oh and writing in my Lisa Frank diaries. I've always been more shy and reserved and through writing and photography, discovered a way to express myself without actually speaking.I think in a way this blog spoke to me. Not just because of the title and experiences with my own blonde bedhead-edness, but I myself find writing and photography to be an expressive outlet for my reserved self. Lord knows I also need some help in the fashion/style arena, so it doesn't hurt to have blogs like this in my back pocket. =) Good times.
Check it out here
TGIF!
