Both of my parents were and are music lovers. They both have great voices, of which I inherited none of, dang it anyway, and they both enjoy having music on all the time, like volume 5,000 none the less. I grew up with that atmosphere, and it affected me whether I realized it at the time or not. As a product of the 80's, I am partial. But I do like taking it all the way back to the 60's & 70's, especially if we are talkin classic rock.
I have tons of memories that are linked to songs - don't you? And I thoroughly enjoy that moment when a song comes on, no matter where you are, and you stop and listen for a second and can't help but crack a smile.
Anyways, I have been compiling a list of songs that I believe will always feel timeless to me... here is it:
- Hungry Eyes - Eric Carmen
- Rocket Man - Elton John
- Edge of Seventeen - Fleetwood Mac
- Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac
- She's got a way - Billy Joel
- Have you ever seen the rain - CCR
- Alone - Heart
- Billy Jean - MJ
- Dirty Diana - MJ
- Waiting for a girl like you - Foreigner
- Don't stop believin - Journey
- Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
- I want to know what love is - Foreigner
- Blinded by the light - Manfred Mann's Earth Band
- Happy Together - The Turtles
- Light my Fire - The Doors
- Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
- Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac
- Carry on Wayward Son - Kansas
- Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
- That's All - Genesis
- Benny & The Jets - Elton John
- Africa - Toto
- Hey Jude - The Beatles
- Listen to the Music - Doobie Brothers
- Every Breath you take - The Police
- Fire and Rain - James Taylor
- Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money
This is just a start - I will keep adding songs as they come to me.
In the meantime, put on your favorite song, blast it for the world to hear, and make yourself smile. Have a wonderful trashy Tuesday! (inside joke - Tuesday is my garbage day.) Cheers!

Love them all! (you know Rhiannon is about me, right? Brieanna...Brieanna)
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you completely dissed Ace of Base. And Wilson Phillips. And COOLIO! Haha I love our 'bad' taste in music also...
...and Wanda sends her love... And I do too :)
@BrieHA! And yes, I always thought that song was about you!
ReplyDeleteOmg you're right. And I actually thought I had Ace of Base on there. I think I was throwing back further than those bands. :)
