Let's see, how do I start this post. First of all, I love weddings!!
And....I haven't been on here in months. My excuse...I don't really have one. Well, I do, but I don't. I actually started this post when I was three days past my baby's due date of July 18. Well, he actually decided to come into this world on July 25! And I've been doing the mom thing 24/7. That's my excuse - take it or leave it. I suppose I've had the chance(s) to update, and one of my friends has repeatedly reminded me that I haven't updated my blog in ages. Well, now I finally have a true reason to do so. Weddings! Three to be exact. Here is thefirst...
As always, I shot this wedding with my sister, Tasha Boin, from Candid Clicks Photography and you can see more photos on her Facebook page and blog as well.
The wedding you are about to get a sneak peek of was in true Alaskan style...my favorite! It took place on June 12 of this year in Ninilchik, Alaska, with local talent helping put the event together from all directions. Even though it was windy and rainy, nobody cared - because Alaskans are TOUGH. There were awesome, personal details to the event that made it super special: the couple, who live in Dutch Harbor, AK, made home-brew beer especially for the wedding day and shipped up enough for everybody to toast with! The wild alaskan lupines bloomed just in time to be included in the wedding - making it not only easy, but beautiful as far as flowers go! Fresh king salmon caught by family was included on the dinner menu; and the guest favors were small jars of shells and sea-glass gathered by none other than the bride and groom from the bottom on the ocean in Unalaska and St.Paul Islands. Pretty awesome huh?!
We had a great time documenting this special day and special couple. Congratulations Melissa and Josh Good!
