Halloween in your twenties...

Hello friends and hello Friday!

I like watching scary movies...in the day time, with company and/or my dogs, while I'm also doing something else and am a bit distracted. I look forward to the month of October when you can randomly find a scary movie on several channels throughout the day; however, see first sentence.
The SciFi channel has done the '31 days of Halloween' series this month, and ABC Family has done the 13 Nights of Halloween...
Most are cheesy anyway, but some are down right wrong in a deliciously creepy way. BUT it's only one month out of the year so I think it's okay to get a little freaky and weird. And we all need to get scared stupid once in a while.

So far this post is going nowhere! :)

The past couple of years have been the worst for Halloween, for me. Now that I'm in my mid-twenties and have a house, all I want is for those cute little trick-or-treaters to come get some dang candy! I seriously wait at home, with the TV volume down so I can hear any noise that sounds like someone coming up to the front door. And this is after two years of getting TWO trick-or-treaters! Why do I insist on getting that Costco sized bag of candy?! I am hopeful this year though... I will at least get three.

This has made me ask myself though...whatever happened to getting dressed up and going to parties!? When did I get too cool?
Granted, Halloween falls on a Monday this year, so i'm off the hook a little bit.
However, it's safe to say we will have our adult Halloween party-goers celebrating all weekend - starting tonight. And there's nothing wrong with that!
I have managed put up a few decorations, but it just doesn't feel the same anymore. I mean, I seriously used to get STOKED for this day! If you go to my parent's house and up to the loft, you can see the evidence - YEARS worth of costumes...good ones too!

Maybe because it's more work these days to get all dressed up and go out....? Am I getting lazy!? Maybe so. Regardless, come Monday I will be super excited and waiting for those kiddos to come to my door.
And who knows, maybe over the weekend I will go get at least a mask or something to wear to work on Monday - because if you can...why not...
I do wish all of you a super fun Halloween weekend, whatever your fancy may be.
And just for fun - here's a list of some of my favorite Halloween movies, in no particular order- I'd love to hear yours!

  2. I am a bit behind on reading your blog - but I am inspired to umm... FINALLY, maybe, this time, actually get a website up and going for metal stuff. Ok, so it probably won't happen until after Christmas, but hey, it might! Any tips?
